Project Overview: “Enviro Store” – first UK Zero carbon store with sustainable materials CHP and innovative design with timber framing.
Added Value: The application of BS9999 allowed interpretations of the compliance method to suit the design characteristics of a retail store. Reducing the fire exits meant more space, improved security and reduced maintenance while still maintaining a high fire safety standard.
SBEM does not adapt to innovative design. Overdesign of the CHP using renewable fuel required our interpretation of the whole building concept. This allowed us to adapt SBEM values and to evaluate results in a proactive way.
