Project Overview: The project involved replacing a number of aging dwellings with 56 flats and 7 two-bedroom bungalows, as well as constructing new access roads, to provide Independent living for the local people. Modern, high quality housing as well as a community lounge and administration offices make up the complex, providing a safe and long lasting environment.
Added Value: Early consultation advice, especially regarding the fire safety provisions.
Additional Comments: One unique issue involved the re-housing of local bats from the original buildings. In order to satisfy legislation, a bungalow was built with a specifically designed roof to house them.
